Little Signals

Privacy policy

Last updated October 2026

This is a draft and is being checked before Little Signals launches. Details in [square brackets] will be added.

This policy explains what information Little Signals collects, why, and how we keep it safe. It is written in plain English.

Who we are

Little Signals is run by [Little Signals Ltd] (company number [company number]), [registered address]. We are the "data controller" for your information, and we are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office ([ICO registration number]).

Questions about your data: help@little-signals.co.uk.

What we collect

Your account: your first name, email address and password (stored securely; we can never see it).

Your child: their first name and date of birth, so the roadmap and reviews fit their age.

Clips you send: short videos of your child, plus what you tell us about them (what the clips show, what happened before, how often it happens).

Feedback: the observations, level and next steps written by our occupational therapists.

Your progress: roadmap steps you tick, how you heard about us and any code you used.

Payments are handled by Apple or our payment provider. We never see or store your card details.

Why we use it

To provide the service you asked for: reviewing your clips, sending feedback and showing your roadmap (this is needed to perform our contract with you).

Clips and notes about your child's development are sensitive health information. We only use them with your explicit consent, which you give each time you send clips, and you can withdraw it at any time by deleting your account.

To keep children safe: if a therapist sees something that suggests a child may be at risk, we may share it with the appropriate authorities, as the law requires.

We never sell your information and never use your clips for advertising or to train AI.

Who can see it

Only the occupational therapist assigned to your review can watch your clips, through links that expire after 15 minutes. Every time a clip is opened, it's recorded.

Therapists reviewing clips see your child's first name and age, never your name or email.

On the Journey plan, your own therapist also sees your first name and your children's first names, so they can message you. Only you, your therapist and the Little Signals team can read your messages.

If you ask for a letter (for example to your GP or nursery), your therapist and the Little Signals team see your answers and your child's latest feedback so they can write it. The letter is only shared with the people you send it to.

Our technology providers store data for us under strict contracts: Supabase (database and secure file storage, hosted in the UK/EU) and, for emails, our email provider.

Influencers whose code you used see only totals (for example, "3 paid reviews"), never who you are.

How long we keep it

Clips are deleted 90 days after your feedback is sent.

Feedback and your roadmap stay in your account until you delete it, so you can show them to professionals.

If you delete your account, we delete your account, children, clips, feedback and progress straight away. We may keep records we must legally keep (for example, payment records or safeguarding reports).

Your rights

You can see, correct, download or delete your information. You can delete your account at any time in the app: tap your child's name at the top of any screen, then "Delete my account".

For anything else, email help@little-signals.co.uk. We reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Little Signals is used by parents and legal guardians aged 18 or over. Children do not use the app or have accounts.
